ABOUT VVP

HISTORY, MISSION & PHILOSOPHY

Valley Vista first opened its doors in 1999 under the ownership of Melody Bowers. In her more than 40 years of early childhood education, she mentored and trained dozens of preschool teachers, many of which are still teaching at VVP, and taught hundreds of students, a few of which are teachers! In 2005, her daughter in law, Shelley Bowers took over and developed the program to fit the current educational climate and changing needs of parents and students. In 2018, Shelley retired and Tyler Longpre stepped in, attempting to fill the very big shoes left for her. Tyler and the current staff are constantly improving techniques and procedures, implementing new curriculum, and keeping up with the ever changing educational standards.

Valley Vista Preschool’s Mission is to provide a nurturing and loving environment for children to learn and grow. We provide opportunities for students to learn, explore and develop positive self-concepts.

Our Philosophy is rooted in play-based methods. While mastery of skills is not our focus, we encourage and expose students to skills on concepts through multiple modalities of play and learning that will provide them with the background knowledge need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
