Rise and Sing

Ms. Amy from Rise and Sing brings a variety of musical props and instruments for the children to use to explore the world of music and movement. Weekly activities include singing songs, fingerplays, rhymes, playing instruments like drums, rhythm sticks or bells, parachute games, movement and dancing, and musical story time. Music concepts such as loud/soft (dynamics), high/low (pitch), steady beat, and rhythm are taught through fun and age appropriate activities. The class is also designed to reinforce what the children are learning in the classroom and to support their overall development.

Classes visit with Ms. Amy once a week for a 30 minute session throughout the year. Ms. Amy also leads our Holiday Program in December and our Mother’s Day Performance in May.

Spirit Days

Once a month we hold a Spirit Day, a special day where all students wear their Valley Vista T-shirts and one class presents a small program of their design, similar to a pep rally! Together we celebrate our school unity. All classes celebrate with a special morning snack sponsored by a family of the presenting class. Families and friends are welcomed to join us for the presentation and stay for a treat!

Spirit Days are held once a month, typically on the last Friday morning of the month. Individual class performance dates can be found on the School Calendar.

Summer

We are open all summer long, June through August. Our summer program is more casual and flexible than our academic year.  Our summer program is only open to currently enrolled students.
